Switching from Type 2 home care to Alberta Maple Care

Families who receive Type 2 home care today, from an agency they didn’t choose, can choose their own registered provider through Client-Directed Home Care Invoicing (CDHCI), also called Type 3. We have published a new page that explains, step by step, how switching your home care to Alberta Maple Care works.

Our offer for families who switch

Families who switch to Alberta Maple Care from Type 2 home care pay no co-payment on their approved CDHCI hours, for as long as they stay our clients. The offer is for new clients switching from Type 2 home care. Hours beyond the approved amount are billed at our normal rate, and whether CDHCI is approved, and for how many hours, is decided by your Assisted Living Alberta case manager. Read the full terms.

How our care works

  • Every client has one main caregiver and one backup. If your caregiver is sick, the backup you already know covers, and we call you before the visit.
  • The schedule is set together with you. Changes need 48 hours’ notice, with no charge for a change in an emergency.
  • A Registered Nurse reviews and signs off every care plan before care begins.
  • Caregivers are matched to you, and caregivers who speak other languages can be matched too.

Switching starts with a conversation with your Assisted Living Alberta case manager about CDHCI, and we help you prepare for it. See how switching works, or call us at . The first in-home assessment visit is free, with no obligation.
