About this service
Alberta Maple Care supports older adults in their own homes across Calgary. What that looks like depends entirely on the person. For one family it is a hand with washing and dressing in the morning. For another it is a hot meal, and medications taken at the right times. For many it is simply having somebody there, so a husband, wife or adult child can step away for a few hours.
Care is built around the routine the person already has, in the home they already know, and it is adjusted as what they need changes.
Who it’s for
- An older parent who is managing at home, but finding parts of the day harder than they used to be.
- A husband or wife caring for their partner, who needs regular relief rather than a one-off.
- An adult child arranging care from across town, or from another province.
- A family who would rather plan care now than decide under pressure later.
What’s included
Senior and elderly care is not one service but a set of them, chosen to suit the person. Each one has its own page:
- Personal care and daily living — washing, dressing, getting up and settling down, and moving about the house.
- Respite care — scheduled relief so a family caregiver can rest or attend to their own appointments.
- Meals and nutrition — shopping for food, preparing it, and sitting with someone while they eat.
- Medication support and health monitoring — medications taken at the right times, and changes noticed early and passed on.
- Errands, shopping and groceries — the trips that get harder to make alone.
- Transportation to appointments — booked separately from a care visit.
- Care management and family consultation — one person keeping the whole picture joined up, and keeping the family in it.
How care is set up
Alberta Maple Care is nursing-led. Every care plan is reviewed and signed off by a Registered Nurse before care begins, and it is written down so everybody — the family, the caregiver, and whoever comes next — is working from the same page.
If the person has approved hours through the Client-Directed Home Care Invoicing (CDHCI) program, those hours are billed directly to Alberta Blue Cross. Assisted Living Alberta decides eligibility and how many hours are approved, through its own assessment — we help families through that process, and we never estimate what it will approve.
Our hourly rates are published on the pricing page, and you can book a visit to talk it through with the team.
