Every request lands somewhere. Your caregiver handles the first list, our nurses the second, and we book the third for you. The last is not home care — and for most of it, we can still point you to someone we trust.

CDHCI
Using your approved CDHCI hours
If Assisted Living Alberta has approved you for Client-Directed Home Care Invoicing, these rules shape how your hours can be used.
- Approved hours cover personal care, essential homemaking linked to your health and safety, and in-home respite.
- Homemaking is never funded on its own — it goes alongside personal care or respite.
- Your hours are approved for you. They cannot be shared with anyone else in the household.
- Hours reset on the 1st of each month and do not carry over.
- Alberta Blue Cross pays $34.06 of each approved hour, and you pay the balance.
- Deep cleaning and heavy or project cleaning are outside the program. We quote those separately.
- Hours cannot be claimed for time when you are away, in hospital, or not at home.
- We cannot tell you how many hours you may be approved for — Assisted Living Alberta decides that at your assessment.
