Heavy-Duty / Deep Cleaning

Heavy-Duty / Deep Cleaning — in-home care from Alberta Maple Care

About this service

A one-time (or seasonal) reset that goes beyond routine “light housekeeping.” We deploy a small crew with a defined scope to degrease kitchens, descale bathrooms, clean baseboards/vents/doors, clear built-up clutter in high-traffic areas, and restore hygienic, slip-free surfaces so personal care and mobility are safer day-to-day. In Alberta’s funding model, CDHCI authorizes service hours for personal care, essential homemaking linked to health/safety, and in-home respite—broad or heavy cleaning falls outside that scope and is normally private-pay. We still follow AHS Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) cleaning principles during projects (e.g., high-touch disinfection, correct product contact times) and use home-safety checklists to reduce falls (lighting, cords/rugs, stairs).

Deep cleaning & disinfection in Calgary & area

Alberta Maple Care offers health-linked deep cleaning and disinfection across Calgary and nearby communities — Airdrie, Cochrane, Okotoks, Chestermere, Banff, Canmore and Strathmore. We follow infection-prevention practices for kitchens, bathrooms, high-touch surfaces and post-illness resets, as a one-time project or on a recurring schedule. Deep cleaning pairs naturally with everyday homemaking and can be scheduled alongside care visits.

Who it’s for

  • Households with built-up grime or clutter that routine visits can’t address (post-hospital return home, spring/fall reset, after a move or renovation).
  • Clients with infection-risk or mobility concerns who need sanitary bathrooms/kitchens and clear, well-lit pathways (e.g., loose rugs, cords, poor stair lighting).
  • Families preparing for home equipment delivery (e.g., hospital bed, lift) where space and hygiene must meet safe-use guidance. (Equipment funding and vendors are handled separately via AADL/authorizers.)

What’s included

Kitchen deep clean

Degrease range/hood, wipe cabinet fronts/backsplashes, clean appliance interiors & exteriors, sanitize handles/switches, and scrub floors. We apply AHS IPC cleaning/disinfection principles to high-touch points.

Bathroom restoration

Remove scale/soap residue, scrub/shock-disinfect shower/tub surrounds and toilet, clean grout/tiles, polish fixtures, and set non-slip mats if supplied by the client (safer transfers).

Baseboards, doors & vents

Dust/wipe low and mid-level surfaces that harbor soil/allergens; vacuum/sweep supply & return vents for airflow and hygiene.

Targeted declutter & pathway reset

Clear and box items from hallways, stairs, bedroom transfer zones, coil/tuck cords, remove or secure throw rugs, and add temporary nightlights where requested. We use Alberta fall-prevention home-safety checklists as our guide.

Fridge/freezer reset

Date-check, discard expired items, wipe shelves/bins (supports food safety for older adults).

Post-project hygiene pass

Disinfect high-touch points (knobs, rails, switches) in the treated areas per AHS IPC guidance.

Frequently asked questions

Is deep cleaning covered by CDHCI?

No. CDHCI funds authorized hours for personal care, essential homemaking linked to health/safety, and in-home respite. Heavy or project cleaning isn’t in scope and is billed privately. (Your authorized CDHCI hours—once approved—are billed directly to Alberta Blue Cross.)

How is pricing structured?

We provide a fixed quote based on rooms/soil level (or an hourly crew rate with a cap). Travel/parking are itemized if applicable. (Many Alberta providers separate routine homemaking from project cleans; CDHCI only covers essential, health-linked homemaking tasks.)

What safety standards do you follow during a project?

We work from AHS IPC cleaning & disinfection principles (Routine Practices, correct product use/contact times) and Alberta fall-prevention checklists to remove hazards (loose rugs, cluttered stairs, poor lighting).

Can you combine a deep clean with care visits?

Yes—families often book a project clean before starting personal care or after discharge so the bathroom/kitchen and transfer zones are safe. Ongoing upkeep then falls under light housekeeping during care (if clinically linked and authorized) or private-pay homemaking.

Do you remove large items or hazardous waste?

We handle household cleaning and light decluttering. Bulk junk removal, pest remediation, mold/asbestos abatement, or biomedical/hazardous waste require specialty vendors (we can coordinate).

Do you offer disinfection cleaning in Calgary?

Yes. We provide disinfection and deep cleaning throughout Calgary and the surrounding area, using infection-prevention practices for high-touch areas, bathrooms and kitchens — available one-time or on a recurring schedule, and coordinated around any care visits.
