Do I need a physician referral to see a podiatrist?

For many community foot concerns you can self-refer to a podiatrist. One exception worth knowing: podiatric surgeons contracted by Alberta Health Services require a physician referral. If surgery looks likely, we help you and your physician assemble a clear referral package.
